Two Tips To Make Your St. Patrick's Day Party Memorable

Once the month of March rolls around, St. Patrick's Day celebrations often become a dime a dozen. If you're thinking about planning a party to honor this day, you want to make your party stand out from the masses. Fortunately, this doesn't take an enormous planning budget and a lot of stress, just an attention to detail and a little creativity. Here are some tips to help you ensure your party is memorable.

The Color Green And Leprechauns

St. Patrick's Day is about more than just wearing green and leprechauns. While these elements are fun to decorate with, if you want to create a truly memorable occasion, these two elements shouldn't be the premise of your party. Take your event to the next level by incorporating facts about the true meaning of this celebration; The Day of the Festival Of Patrick.

Since you still want to keep the tone fun, consider adding small placement cards around the event that have facts about the holiday, such as who Saint Patrick is, the reason why the three-leaf clover is associated with the day and the reason it's customary to wear green as part of the celebration. To ensure your guest don't feel like they are receiving a history lesson, keep the content on the place cards short--no more than a paragraph.

Irish Folk Music

Incorporating famous Irish folk songs during your St. Patrick's day party is another way to help make your party more memorable and transform it into a true Irish céilidh, a traditional Irish social gathering. In addition to setting an Irish tone for the party, authentic Irish music will probably be a genre many of your guests aren't familiar with. This fact alone can be both intriguing and exciting for your guests, which can add to the appeal of the party.

To ensure there is music for everyone, you can include music selections that include mellow tunes infused with the sound of uilleann pipes and more upbeat rhythms that encompass sounds from drums like banjos and bodhráns. To take things to the next level, you might also consider hiring some Irish step, or river, dance instructors who can help your guests learn authentic dances to go along with the music.

Make sure you have your creative juices flowing so that your guests don't just have a great time at the event, but that memories from your event will bring them delight for years to come.
