Learning About Music and String Instruments

Hi there, my name is Marcia. I play music with my friends and church group whenever I can. I play string instruments, such as the violin, cello and bass. I will use this site to talk about different instrument types and playing techniques. I will talk about reading music and creating your own pieces. I will also share information about the way I care for my instruments between play sessions. Please visit my site often to learn more about music and string instruments. Thanks for coming by. I hope to see you again soon.

Why Most Kids Enjoy Learning The Drums More Than Other Instruments

If you are trying to get your children interested in music, but don't want to force them to do an activity that they don't enjoy, then you might feel that you are in a tricky spot. How do you make your child want to learn an instrument? The simple answer is that you give them the option to learn whichever instrument they want, and most of the time, drums will be near the top of that list. here are a few reasons why you should consider enrolling your child in drum lessons and why most kids really enjoy learning the drums more than other instruments.

Tactile Feedback

While you will feel almost every instrument in your hands and on your lips when you use it, drums are certainly unique in how tactile the feedback they give is. The banging of your hands holding the sticks and the stamping of your feet on the pedals are quite an experience, and you feel every reverberation of the drums. It is a smorgasbord for your senses, and many kids really enjoy this because it is so active and so different from all the other, more tame instruments. Drum lessons feel like an excuse to have fun, not just to sit and learn.

Permission To Make Loud Noises

While all instruments make some sort of noise, there really is nothing like the racket created by drums. When it comes to most normal instruments you will find in a band or orchestra, drums are often the loudest without amplification of any kind. For children who are constantly told to keep quiet and reign in their behavior, being allowed to really cut loose and make noise in a controlled environment can be the exact type of fun they were looking for. If your child is not enjoying other instruments, this might be the reason why, and you should give them a chance at drum lessons.

Easy To Learn, Hard To Master

One of the great things about learning the drums is that they are quite easy to learn a few simple notes and play some famous songs that are not that complicated. However, this is not to say that the drums are easy by any stretch, and if you want to become a master at it, it will still take you many years of dedicated training. This range of skill levels means that anyone can learn to play the drum and choose how dedicated they want to be, and if they just want to be decent and have fun, then it doesn't take that long to get to that level.
